Digby is an 8 year old Doberman and is currently on foster in Ammanford, Wales
The Digby fact file
Dog status: Will bark at other dogs but is friendly when up close
Cat status: unknown
Child status: Unknown. As he was a stray with no history we will rehome him with children 12 yrs+
House training: Very good
Home alone: Relaxed and happy to be left for short periods but he does love human company so would not be happy left for long periods
Basic training: Knows basic commands such as sit, stand, paws. Needs work out on the lead as he does pull and will bark at other dogs
Digby has had a hard life but this has not affected his charming nature.
When out on walks he will bark at other dogs, however, once he gets up close and personal he is calm and friendly. He is not currently in foster with other dogs, however, he did live in temporary foster care with another doberman. He may be able to live with a calm, quiet dog in a new home.
Digby will be looking for an experienced owner to tackle his barking at other dogs using kind, positive training methods.
He is not in foster with cats or children. As he has come to us as a stray and we do not have a full history on him we will only be able to rehome him where any children were a minimum of 12 years old and dog savvy.
He is house trained and can be left on his own for short periods without being distressed or destructive. He is full of character and fun and likes to carry items around the house like slippers and socks he finds on the radiator!
He can also try to use his charms and vocalise to get attention or his own way. Digby will need an experienced home and would not be a good first dog. We would ideally like to find a home with previous experience of large or guarding breeds.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk
