Bow is an 18 month old beagle who has epilepsy.

Bow is now back in kennels and is looking for a new foster or forever home asap.

    The Bow Fact File
    Dog status: Very good
    Cat status: Excitable
Child status: Bouncy! Could be rehomed with children over the age of 10 years who are used to dogs and will not be scared by his full on nature.
House training: Coming along nicely but still needs a little work
Home alone: Not 100% happy and this will need some work. He would not be suitable for a full time worker
Basic training: Knows sit and his name, Bow will need to be trained further but his food and toy motivation should make the task easier for someone.

Prepare to be Bowled over by this handsome boy both figuratively and literally! Bow is a bundle of love and affection and he is not afraid to show it. He absolutely adores people and is very bouncy and excitable. His foster home are beginning the work on him not jumping up and a new owner will need to continue with this training. Bow has been very well handled and is very social and outgoing with new people.

Bow has been living in foster care with other dogs and met many of all shapes and sizes out on his walks. He is a charmer and loves other dogs. He would love to be rehomed with canine company and may be able to be the only dog with plenty of human company.
Bow has been living in foster care with cats and he is OK but a little full on with them. He does not mean them any harm but he can chase and be bouncy so he could only be rehomed with cats who are dog savvy and will give him a swipe rather than running scared from him.

Due to Bow's bouncy nature we will not rehome him with young children. He could possibly live with older children who are robust and will tolerate a good licking and handle any play biting when he is excited appropriately. He would make an excellent companion for teenagers to run about and play football with.

Bow will need a strong new owner as boy can this dog pull! He is going to need re training to walk nicely on the lead (I am sure you can imagine how it goes now, beagle nose to the ground and the body follows at lightning speed!). He does know sit but that is about it and he will need his basics from scratch. We would not recommend him for a first time dog owner.
He absolutely adores his walks and being out in the fresh air. He will be looking for a fit and active new owner who can give him a good long walk each day and plenty of mental stimulation.

Bow has epilepsy and was brought in to our care as his previous owner did not want to pay for treamtnet and he was taken to the vets to be put to sleep. We could not asee such a vibrant, alive dog go in this way so we agreed to take him in to our care. Epilepsy has a higher occurance in beagles than in some other breeds and it can be easily managed with the correct care. More information can be found here http://www.canineepilepsy.co.uk/

Bow needs to travel in a crate in the car otherwise he will try to join you in the driver’s seat

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk

He's a lump of handsomeness. Very Happy

You are ok Bow, no need to put you to sleep at all. Wink

Our Penny had epilepsy. She was aware of when a fit was coming on, she would do anything to get to me for me to hold her during the fit, and as soon as she had got to me, the fit would take over, just for a couple of minutes, and then she would be very tired.

No need to rob a dog of 99% of it's life just for something as manageable as that. I wish I was in a position to offer help for this lovely boy.
