Gemma is around 2 years old and is a patterdale terrier and is currently on foster in Wrexham.
The Gemma Fact File
Dog status: Very good, living in foster with other dogs but can be nervy with large ones at first
Cat status: Very interested and will chase. Cannot be rehomed with cats or rabbits
Child status: Can be nervy of new adults and children until she gets to know them. Could be rehomed with older children.
House training: Very good
Home alone: Fine to be left for short periods. Would not suit a full time worker as she does love company
Basic training: Very good, knows sit, wait, on your bed, leave, off etc. Can pull on the lead but better in a harness.
Gemma is a lovely, quiet dog. She came to us from the pound and was very nervous when she first arrived in our care. She has settled in with her foster carers very well and has come out of her shell. She can be a bit backwards in coming forwards when she meets new people but is getting much better.
She has been an excellent house guest for them, she shares her food and toys nicely, does not chew things she shouldn't, is house trained, excellent at the vets.....need I go on or is she sounding like the perfect dog already!?
Gemma is a patterdale cross or could be a full patterdale.
Gemma is very good with other dogs and can be rehomed with or without other canine company. She can be nervous of large dogs at first but will settle down with them. She is overly interested in cats and can not be rehomed with them but will tolerate chickens.
Gemma with her foster brothers and sisters:
Gemma is a very intelligent and biddable dog. She already knows a lot of basic commands such as sit, wait, on your bed, out, off, leave etc. She can pull on the lead a little but is much better in a harness. She has very good recall off the lead even in the country park where there are lots of interesting smells to investigate.
Gemma is happy to be left for up to four hours at a time, however, she is a sociable dog who loves human company so she would not be looking for a new home with a full time worker. She is house trained and very good in the car.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk
